The largemouth bass were really biting! We caught some really big ones, too. We used live shiners as bait, and they seemed to work the best. The weather was perfect - not too hot, not too cold - and the water was crystal clear. It was just an all-around fantastic day. I can't wait to get back out there and see what else we can catch. The summer patterns had some full effect on the lake. The water could be dingy in some areas but clear in most parts, especially on natural springs. This lake is consistent for good catches as it produces incredible numbers of Florida trophy Bass, Cappie, and Blue-Gill. Fishing for all species has been fair this past week.
